To all the mommas…
I opened Mesa a little over two years ago and wow, I still cannot believe it is mine. I have poured my heart and soul into building a place that was comfortable and easy to walk in to for everyone. It has challenged me in every way, changed me in so many ways, and I am better for it. I can say the same thing about entering motherhood. What a beautiful gift to be called Mama. I truly have people from every direction that count on me from sun up to sun down. From keeping a tiny human alive, pouring my love into him, to nurturing a salon filled with people I love and that need me for their own success. I truly wouldn’t want it any other way. I have found my purpose.
I feel like the day I became a mother was the day I became me. The active role of motherhood has replaced every selfish bone in my body. I smile knowing how much each of you can relate to that. I love the unspoken connection each of us have, and for that, I want to thank every one of you for such a warm welcome into the mom club. Even if we haven’t met, being a mother is something we can without doubt connect on.
To all the mommas who have sat in my chair…
When I was going through pregnancy aches and pains, thank you for understanding just how long and hard those days behind the chair really were. Thank you for making time for me, to answer my thousand questions about your birth stories even (though some of you want to forget about that part.) Thank you for texting back at 3am when I was in labor and the most scared I have ever been in my life. I felt supported and understood the entire 9 months and still do, raising Dawson.
The amount of Amazon links I have received to help becoming a mom easier, saved me.
I wouldn’t be the mom I am without the genuine friendship I built with each of you. Thank you. You have made me fall in love with my job all over again.

ABOUT MESA BOUTIQUE SALON
I remember sitting in my little suite thinking to myself “I love this, but…” and that is where the idea of opening a salon began stirring in me. I began to think about what that would look like, feel like, and where the location would be. I remember praying, questioning “Lord, is this what you want me to do?” … “okay, but how am I supposed to open a salon without a name?” “Not this year, next year, right?” I talked to God daily, asking for confirmation that this is what I am supposed to do. From there I starting gathering inspiration from everywhere and everything that has brought me joy and comfort in life.
My thoughts immediately consumed by the peace, warmth, and comfort I feel when camping in the southwest. I wanted to create a space that radiated acceptance and warmth, something I always craved as a stylist.
I wanted the space I create to be an extension of the person I strive to be, warm, inviting, and inspired by God’s beauty in nature. I started to focus on the feeling of the space and knew with that the name would come.
Standing in an antique shop I saw a piece of pottery I was drawn to. Holding it in my hands I looked at the hand drawn tag and saw the name “Mesa.” The name Mesa came up again looking at paint swatches, and again when looking at furniture. On my way to work one morning I was thinking about what a Mesa is and how it’s created. A Mesa is a tabletop mountain formed by erosion, creating a flat top with a strong foundation. I knew immediately that this was the perfect representation of my story as a stylist. I thought my goal was to be at the top of a mountain in order to be successful. When truly my story started with creating the firm foundation. I did not want to create a place to stand alone at the top, others below me. I wanted to create an equal space with a firm foundation where we can all stand together. A “you can sit at my table, vibe.”
Immediately I felt peace, affirmation, and the name Mesa Boutique Salon was born. It has taken me over a year and I have come to realize that this is only the beginning. Mesa will continue to grow, always.
